When you join the military, you pledge an oath to uphold & defend the constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic. You do not get to choose which parts you uphold. Your job is to ensure you protect everyone's rights in accordance with the constitution, whether you agree or not.
I started Resist&Persist to advocate for Veterans and their families concerning the undermining of the VA and it's healthcare system by Donald Trump and his stooges. Since then, numerous things have happened, not the least of which is the activation of the National Guard in US cities.
![]() Photo by Robin Fader I traveled to Washington, D.C. with 4 other veterans to protest the illegal occupation of US soil by US troops at the direct order of President Trump. On August 25th, the President signed an executive order that violated our constitutional rights and that is when I knew I had to burn the flag in order to protect our 1st amendment.
Last month, the tent outside Union Station was illegally removed, just one more violation of our Constitutional rights.
My application for non-profit status has been held up in red tape for months; I have little hope of it ever getting approved. Along with that, since the time I burned the flag, my ability to buy weapons has been infringed upon. What used to take a few minutes for approval is now in a permanent "delayed" status by the Department of Justice. We must continue the fight to preserve our Constitutional rights, especially our First Amendment rights which serves as the basis for all our freedoms.
I will be back in DC for the next phase of my court case on January 28th and have re-opened the Go Fund Me. This is always an expensive trip, which I am sure will not be my last. If you would like to join me there, we will be in room 22a at 10:30am in the 333 Constitutional Avenue, NW, DC 20001.
Lastly, I want to thank all of you that have supported me, my advocacy and resistance through messages of encouragement, in-person support at my hearings and continued monetary contributions.
I know there's so many causes that need to be funded, your support means the world to me. Power to the People. -Jay |
